CSI blocks during NJCAA National Championship
Council Bluffs, Iowa - The CSI volleyball team defeated Missouri State University - West Plains 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 Saturday to claim its 9th NJCAA National Championship.
The victory is the Golden Eagles first national championship under head coach Heidi Cartisser.
Cartisser was named NJCAA coach of the year and sophomore Jessica Peacock earned MVP of the national tournament.
Sam Misa and Barbara Alcantara also earned all-tournament honors and Elisa Brochado was named the top server of the tournament. Alcantara took home setter of the tournament honors.
The Golden Eagles will return home Sunday.
