Southern Idaho defeats Salt Lake in Five Game Thriller, advances to National Championship

COUNCIL BLUFF, IA – It was a battle of the SWAC in the NJCAA Volleyball Tournament Semifinal and the College of Southern Idaho upended rival Salt Lake CC in five sets (25-21, 17-25, 13-25, 25-16, 10-15).
CSI advances to play in the National Championship tomorrow at 5:30 MT against Missouri State West Plains. They defeated Western Nebraska in five games as well.
The SLCC offense never found their rhythm ending the match with a .215 hitting percentage committing 24 errors. Three Salt Lake hitters finished with double digit kills Shelbi Zaldain had a team high 13 kills, Ame White and LaKell Havens both had 11 kills. The Bruins never found an answer for Southern Idaho's Jessica Peacock who ended the game 26 kills and a .365 hitting percentage.
The SLCC Bruins (29-8) will play at 5:30 pm Saturday November 21st against Western Nebraska for third place.
